Mental health is a condition of mind health that enables people to control the stresses of life and realize their abilities. It is an essential element of health that underpins our unique abilities to make determinations, build relationships and learn well to work well. There are various mental conditions that require coverage for mental health, including mental illnesses, psychosocial disabilities, and self-harm risk.   • having persistent thoughts or memories that reappear regularly hearing voices
  • experiencing delusions

Treatment of Mental Health Disorders:

There are different methods of treatment for controlling mental health problems. There are some treatment options for people that affect with mental illness.

Psychotherapy: This type of treatment involves a psychological approach to treating mental illness. This treatment is carried out by Psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, and some primary care physicians. It can allow people to understand the basis of their mental condition and start to operate on more healthful thought patterns. 

Medication: Some medications can only improve symptoms although these cannot cure mental disorders, Some of these medications boost the body’s absorption of feel-good chemicals, such as serotonin, from the brain.

Self-help: A person managing mental health difficulties may need to change their lifestyle to promote wellness.

Such changes can have decreasing alcohol intake, sleeping more, and eating a balanced, nutritious diet. People may need to take time away from work or resolve issues with personal relationships that may be causing damage to their mental health.


How to maintain your mental health:

The NIMH offers several tips to maintain your mental health:

  • Regular exercise
  • Eat a balanced diet and stay hydrated
  • Aim for good-quality sleep
  • Perform relaxing activities
  • Practice gratefulness
  • Challenge negative thoughts
  • Look for positive social interactions
